NAD+ Reconstitution: How Much Water and What Units

NAD+ usually ships as a freeze-dried powder that you reconstitute before use. The math

Concentration = vial mg × 1000 ÷ water mL (in mcg/mL). Units = dose ÷ concentration × 100 on a U-100 syringe. Remember 1 mg = 1000 mcg.

Worked example

Illustrative only, not a recommendation. A 500 mg NAD+ vial with 5 mL of bacteriostatic water is 100 mg/mL. For a 50 mg amount: 50 ÷ 100 = 0.5 mL = 50 units. NAD+ vials are often larger (500–1000 mg), so a bit more water keeps the draw and any injection-site volume comfortable.

Diluent and storage

NAD+ is water-soluble and is commonly reconstituted with bacteriostatic water. Once mixed, keep it refrigerated and protected from light, and don’t freeze the solution. NAD+ is relatively sensitive, so use it within its window and discard if it discolors or clouds.

Common questions

How much bac water do I add to an NAD+ vial?

There is no single right amount — more water is more dilute (a larger draw), less is more concentrated. Many people pick a volume that gives a clean, easy-to-read unit count; the calculator solves for that.

What concentration do I get?

Concentration = vial mg times 1000, divided by the water in mL (in mcg/mL). A 500 mg vial in 5 mL is 100 mg/mL.

How do I store reconstituted NAD+?

Keep it refrigerated, protected from light, and do not freeze the solution. Use within its window and discard if it clouds or discolors.

Is this a dose recommendation?
