To work out how many syringe units a BPC-157 measurement comes to, you need two numbers: how many milligrams (mg) are in your vial, and how many milliliters (mL) of bacteriostatic water you added. What BPC-157 is

BPC-157 is a synthetic peptide that has been studied mostly in laboratory and animal settings. The diluent BPC-157 usually uses

The liquid used to dissolve a peptide powder is called the diluent. BPC-157 is most commonly reconstituted with bacteriostatic water — sterile water containing a small amount of benzyl alcohol as a preservative. (Note: some other peptides use a different diluent — for example, GHK-Cu is typically reconstituted with acetic acid rather than bacteriostatic water.) Here is the key point for the math: the choice of diluent does not change the concentration calculation. Whether the liquid is bacteriostatic water or something else, the concentration is set only by how many mg of powder are in the vial and how many mL of liquid you add. The diluent matters for stability and comfort, but not for the units-to-draw arithmetic below.

Two simple steps. First find the concentration, then convert an amount to syringe units. Remember 1 mg = 1000 mcg, and on a standard U-100 insulin syringe 100 units = 1 mL.

Example 1 (neutral example only — your vial may differ; confirm with your pharmacist). A 5 mg vial with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water added: 5 × 1000 ÷ 2 = 2500 mcg/mL. If someone wanted to measure a 250 mcg amount (a commonly-reported figure shown here strictly as arithmetic, not a recommendation — confirm with your physician): 250 ÷ 2500 × 100 = 10 units.

Example 2 (neutral example only — your vial may differ; confirm with your pharmacist). A 10 mg vial with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water added: 10 × 1000 ÷ 2 = 5000 mcg/mL. For that same 250 mcg arithmetic example: 250 ÷ 5000 × 100 = 5 units.

Notice that the same amount in mcg comes to a different number of units depending on the vial size and water volume. That is why there is no single "units" answer — it always depends on your specific concentration. This is mixing math, not a dosage recommendation.

Safety and when to defer

Reconstitution arithmetic is easy to get wrong, and a small slip — confusing mcg with mg, or misreading water volume — can change a result by a factor of ten or a hundred. A few honest reminders:

It depends entirely on your concentration, so there is no fixed answer. Using neutral examples: at 2500 mcg/mL (a 5 mg vial in 2 mL water) it works out to 10 units; at 5000 mcg/mL (a 10 mg vial in 2 mL water) it works out to 5 units. How much bacteriostatic water do I add to BPC-157?
